Tiny Library, Big Books – Kelsey Browning

Tiny Library, Big Books

One of the first orders of business Smarty Boy and I took care of when we arrived in Georgia in August was procuring library cards. I became severely spoiled with the Los Angeles county system. When I saw the size of our new home’s closest branch library, I feared my library love affair was over.

It’s not as small as a bookmobile, but it’s close.

The great news is it’s actually a little bigger inside than it looks from the outside. And even better news is we have access to the entire Georgia Pines borrowing system. Cute country library with a storm door, dedicated parking across the street at the police station, and online hold on books from all over the state. Score!

Lucky for us all, October is National Book Month. If you haven’t visited your library in a while, take time to swing by. Or visit the website. You might find they have a long list of services you can utilize right from your desk. I love that our system allows us to put a hold on books online and they’ll email or text us when the book arrive at our local branch.

This weekend is also National Storytelling Weekend, so shine up one of your best tall tales and see if you can’t accost someone new with it over the next couple of days!
