Keep Calm and Carryon – Kelsey Browning

Keep Calm and Carryon

Travel season is upon me. I recently flew to Chicago and will return again early next month. After that, I don’t board a plane again until June, but it’s always a good idea to get mentally prepared for the packed airports, security lines and tiny bathroom stalls.

As you know, I recently purchase a Lug Tote and have successfully used it as a travel carryon. That being said, I still recommend a backpack over a tote for air travel. And that recommendation has nothing to do with the airplane and everything to do with getting to the airplane. It’s simply easier to balance your body and your belongings when one of them is on your back. Also – you’re less likely to whack the first class passengers in the face with your worldly goods strapped to your back.

My other go-to carryon (Should we talk trash about airline restrictions on checked baggage? Nah. These are supposed to be short posts.) is a small Eddie Bauer roller I bought at Target six or seven years ago for $40.

I’ve looked all over for another one of these. Can’t even find one on eBay. Small enough to fit in all overhead bins, two convenient outside pockets for shoes or flat/curling iron. Inside mesh pocket for socks, undies, etc. and plastic pocket for toiletries. But what I love most about it is how the top opens…the zipper opens in a u-shape, exposing everything inside quickly and conveniently.

Today is National Chocolate Caramel Day. Let’s be honest, they should probably just say what they mean: Gustatory Orgasm Day. If you want to celebrate with one of the best things you can place in your mouth, check out Pangburn’s Millionares with pecans, caramel, milk chocolate and a smidge of honey.
