5 Gifts for Teachers, Bosses & Other Acquaintances – 12 Days of Christmas Gifts Extravaganza

Oh, those hard to buy for folks…teachers, bosses, service providers, and other acquaintances. You don’t want to blow your holiday budget but don’t want to come off looking like a cheapskate either.

I think the name of the game here is “useful.” Your kid’s third-grade teacher probably doesn’t need another glass apple to put on her desk. What she probably needs is a full-body massage and a rum & coke (but that gift might be a little too perceptive of you.)

So consider these instead:

I found these goodie-filled coffee cups at Sam’s Club a few days ago. They come in a set of four for less than $20. Definitely not a bank-breaker.

Mugs

Or how about making your own small coffee/tea gifts with these cute travel mugs? You can get a 6-piece set at Sam’s Club for under $20. Add a few items and you can give 6 gifts for under $40-50.

Discount restaurant gift cards. At big box stores like Sam’s and Costco, you can often find discounted gift cards of all types. Seems like the best deals are local restaurants. For example, here in Athens, you can get two $25 Your Pie or Zaxby’s gift cards for less than $40. Score!

I’m always a fan of notecards for women. They’re totally useful for the givee and reasonably priced for the giver. Great if you have time to have them personalized. If not, just look for a design that matches the person’s personality.

And oh, these gifts might be reserved for that extra special boss or teacher, but I love these Erin Condren planners. You could do a lesson planner for the teacher – and a life planner for the boss.

Today is Use Less Stuff Day so keep that in mind when buying gifts. Don’t give just to give because that pretty much guarantees whatever you buy be re-gifted!
