8th Grade Bites (Hopefully Not Really…) – Kelsey Browning

8th Grade Bites (Hopefully Not Really…)

Last weekend, Smarty Boy participated in our local American Cancer Society Relay for Life with his school. And yes, they stayed the entire 24 hours. Each year, the grade levels pick a theme and the kids dress with that theme in mind. This year’s theme was mythology and fantasy. Having recently finished reading the Vladimir Tod series by Heather Brewer (Eighth Grade Bites et al), he decided to design a Tod-inspired shirt.

We’ve become a relatively resourceful (lazy?) family, so although we purchased paint, we turned a black t-shirt bound for Goodwill inside out and used a tiny paintbrush used for painting models.

What do you think of the results?

Today is National Two Different Colored Shoes Day. Don’t know about you, but I’ve done this often enough on accident that I don’t need to do it on purpose.

This week is also Be Kind to Animals Week. So if you’re one of those folks who kicks puppies, for God’s sake, you should be jailed, stoned, beaten and fed Alpo!
